The Evil One
Austin Price, Editor in Chief
A hooded figure
A slithering serpent
A shadows silhouette
Oh you evil one
You sneaky, slimy bastard
A mirage of color
A disfigured caricature
Your sweat drips like the venom off of a vipers tooth
Your wretchedness leaks onto us, in little raindrops
Drip
Drop
Drip
Drop
Drip
Drop
Before we know it, we are shivering with sin
You scrape at our souls with your talons
Long, slender and sharp designed to stab, puncture, and mutilate
The all-time champion of rock, paper, scissors, for that’s the game
You always win
Oh, evil, one what a wicked web you believe
Entice and entrap, ensnare and examine
He dissects his victims
Plucking his prey into parts
His victims lay there wondering
Wondering how they got there
But they never find an answer
You see, the evil one is clever
The evil one is cunning
But most of all, the evil one is captivating
He draws in his subjects.
His deception shimmers like the shards of a broken mirror
An obvious bad omen, but one impossible to look away from
Once he has you, the evil one will never let you go
His grip intertwines with the innocent, entangled mess
Wrapping, riving, twisting, and turning
His strength is as hard as a diamond
Unbreakable and unbearable
The evil one is a shapeshifter
He’s the monster under your bed
He’s the friend that broke your trust
Run fast little child
Don’t let the evil one catch you
Cause he will never let you go
