When it comes to choosing your inventory, The Learning Commons offers rare, legendary loot in the form of free tutoring sessions. Students can schedule in-person appointments or online sessions at The Learning Commons page, whatever works best with your schedule! In-person sessions are hosted in the Learning Commons space, located in the Library, suite 204. Having partnered with Tutor.com, students have 24/7 access to free online tutoring when in-person tutoring is unavailable.

These free tutoring sessions cover a wide variety of career fields including math, biology, physics, nursing, pharmacy, computer science, business, neuroscience, chemistry, psychology, communications, humanities, and languages. The Learning Commons also provides lessons on critical reading and study skills to those seeking to better develop and enhance skills. Tutoring has been proven to help students excel in their studies and provides additional support – especially for students in higher education. According to Stanford Edu’s article, “Five Years of Tutoring Research: What We Have Learned Since the Pandemic,” the “effects of tutoring can persist over time, with some studies documenting learning gains lasting several years after tutoring concludes.”

While the wide variety of career fields might cause a little uncertainty about whether or not a tutor will be a right fit for you; you can be assured that tutors in The Learning Commons promise to have experience in foundational and intermediate-level classes. When scheduling an appointment, you can check the tutor's bios and choose someone who fits your criteria. If you're only finding grey-level loot (issues finding a tutor), don't hesitate to contact support, and they’ll make sure to equip you with some legendary loot – a tutor tailored to your needs!

Juliet Buckley, a student that equipped this tutoring loot and got a victory royale (a good exam grade), urges her peers to reach out and get help when they need it. She says, “the tutoring helped me so much; I’m able to actually feel like I know the material and feel comfortable writing in Spanish. I would recommend tutoring to any student who needs some support. It's free, so why not?” Tutoring is beneficial to all, and it's okay to lean on that support. And, well, Juliet is also right, it is a free service, so why not use it?

Now, The Learning Commons might not know as much about Fortnite as we do, but they should know that their free tutoring is legendary. If you, or someone you know are looking for extra support with studying or learning content – especially with midterms on the way, head on over to The Learning Commons!
