Volleyball, Competition, & Ranger Pride, Oh My!

Rangers, your favorite season is finally here at Regis University! We are not only on the brink of fall season and pumpkin spice lattes, but it is finally athletic season in which competition for our Women's Volleyball has officially started! The Women's Volleyball team had their first home game on September 2nd, and many families, friends, and students attended to show their support towards the team. With more home volleyball games on campus, there has been an increase of students attending, and our volleyball team has experienced a rapid increase in growing their fanbase.

On September 2nd, the Women’s Volleyball team went head to head with Fort Hays State held in the field house and the stands were filled with support from students, professors, staff, and families. The Regis Spirit Team made an appearance at the game showcasing their support and bumping up Ranger pride throughout the field house. While cheering on the volleyball team, the match was heated with intense scores and competition between the two teams. In between the second and third set of the game, a giveaway and raffle was hosted as ambassadors gave away Regis University merchandise, headphones, and stuffed mini volleyballs.

Although the game and set scores were close, the game concluded with Fort Hays State taking home the win. Despite the Rangers not being the winning side, the Women’s Volleyball team is already prepared to come back strong in their next home game and bring home a win.

Reisa Martin, a student who works in the athletic department shared how the active athletic season and seeing more students attend games this school year has created excitement for her. She shared that she is looking forward to the crowds and support at upcoming athletic games, and has enjoyed seeing an increase in school spirit within sports at Regis. “I’m glad the athletic programs we have at Regis are finally not only being recognized, but celebrated and more students are finding time to support their friends here at Regis.”

Student support is important in keeping our culture and school spirit alive here at Regis. Join the stands, grab your ranger gear, and get fired up for the next home matches on September 25th and October 2nd.
