Colorado Movement Lab is a trailblazer in the Denver dance community, known for its core principles of dance education, movement exploration, and wellness. Led by these fundamentals, CML offers teachings of pedagogy, composition, choreography, stage design, costume creation, and music and set development in an organic and bountiful approach. All of these performance and creative aspects are taught in CML’s Composition Labs, for dancers between ages 10 to Adult. In this class, the concept of dance composition is examined. Dance composition is the creative process of arranging and structuring dance movements to form a complete dance piece.
The study of composition, metamorphosing into the creation of choreography is a sacred art that is constantly evolving, changing, improving, and impacting the artists of the world, and their audiences. In this class, CML emphasizes the beauty of works in progress, and showcases the incredible brilliance of the process of creation. In addition to celebrating the build up to a creation, CML proudly demonstrates the outcome of these creations. The Innovators will include both performance and discussion of the works in progress, allowing the audience to see inside the creative process.
