It debuted at Playwrights Horizons, a theatre that fosters new work by playwrights hoping to break into the business. The play became the most nominated play ever at the 2024 Tony Awards with 13 nominations, beating the previous record of 12 held by Jeremy O. Harris’ Slave Play.
