What A year it has been for the Regis Men’s Basketball team! A month ago, the team won their first playoff game against Black Hills State University 78-66. Dexter Sienko dominated the game and finished with an impressive 27 points. Christian Little also had a great game adding 18 points for the Rangers. This was the first of three possible RMAC tournament games. The team will wait to see who they play next in the semifinal. Following the RMAC tournament, the team will compete in the NCAA Division II tournament.

The latest Regional rankings have been released and the team was ranked 5th. Hopefully, this will help the Rangers in the seeding process. The team will also look to Sienko and his dominate defensive skills. This past week he earned the prestigious RMAC defensive player of the year award alongside a spot on the All-RMAC first team. Also earning awards were Jarrett Brodbeck, Christian Little, and Ty Mcgee. Brodbeck and Little were awarded All-RMAC second team and Mcgee was an honorable mention. The date and time of the next game are yet TBD, but in the meantime send good vibes the team's way as they look to continue their winning streak!

Once again, the Regis men’s basketball team has found themselves in a perfect position to succeed in this year’s playoffs. Sitting at 20-5 overall should put the team in a nice ranking position so that they won’t have to face a tough team until the later rounds. In fact, since Winter break the Rangers have gone 8-1.

The team’s success has come from all across the roster, but a few players have been extremely instrumental in the team's recent victories. Leading the Rangers is Dexter Sienko who earned his second RMAC defensive player of the week award this past week. Sienko is also averaging a smooth 15 points and 5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Christian Little has also had a strong season averaging 14 ppg and 5 rebounds.

If you haven’t been able to see the Rangers play yet, it is not too late! The Rangers will close out their season with three straight home games in the evening on the 17th,23rd, and 24th. These games should be a nice warm-up for the playoffs that begin on the 28th of this month.

Last 3 games scores:
93-88 Victory over UC-Colorado Springs
82-79 Victory over Metro
73-67 Victory over Chadron State

Next 3 games dates:
February 17: vs Westminster College (Fieldhouse)
February 23: South Dakota School of mines and technology (Fieldhouse)
February 24: Black Hills State University (Fieldhouse)

Men’s Basketball

Sitting at 13-5, the men’s basketball team has certainly lived up to any expectations that fans had. With 10 games to go until the playoff start, the Rangers will look to build on their success. Sophomore Christian Little has been a key factor this season with an average of 15 points and 5 rebounds per game. Respectively, Dexter Sienko and Jarret Brodbeck are averaging 14.9 points per game. The Rangers have 5 remaining home games so come on out and support the team!

Highlights since Christmas:

Brodbeck hits 1,000 point mark (w/ 35 in one game!)
Mcgee and Sienko awarded RMAC player of the week
3-3 overall record

Women’s Basketball

The Rangers got off to a bit of a slow start this season, but have won 4 of their last 5 games! The girls' conference record sits at 8-4 which puts them into a good position as we get closer to playoff time. Mary Sigler and Majestie Robinson have led the way averaging 13 points per game. Shelby Espinosa has been a key factor for the Rangers on defense with an average of 9 rebounds per game. The Rangers are, without a doubt, playing very well right now and their momentum could carry them deep into the postseason. The Rangers have three remaining home games so come on out and cheer them on!

Three remaining home games:

2/9 5 P.M vs UC Colorado Springs
2/10 5 P.M vs Metro
2/17 5 P.M vs Westminster (Utah)

Men's Basketball
Post-thanksgiving, the win streak is still intact for the men’s basketball team. Morale is high after winning the first five games of the season. The team received ten votes in the latest NCAA rankings. This is, without a doubt, one of the better basketball teams that Regis has seen in a long time. Look for this team to be ranked in the coming weeks! Off to a hot start, Jarret Brodbeck is leading the way with 16.4 ppg. The team will be playing their next three games in Denver but will be on the road for quite some time after that. Make sure to catch a game or two before the boys look to continue their success on the road!

Women’s Basketball
The ladies are off to a slow start at 1-4, but there are many games to come. On a positive note, Majestie Robinson has had a remarkable start to the year averaging 14.2 ppg with an average of 30 minutes on the floor per game. Her success will be critical as the Ranger will look for their second win against Colorado Christian on December 2 in the fieldhouse. If you can’t make that game, the ladies will be playing on the 3rd in the fieldhouse as well.

Women’s Volleyball
This year Regis Volleyball team has been hugely successful. The team finished off 28-3 which locked them into the one seed for the national tournament. On top of earning the first seed, the Rangers were the regular season champions and also RMAC champs for the first time since 1998. The girls are currently on a ten game win streak and did not even give up a set throughout the RMAC tournament. Come on out and support the team as they look to continue their season in the national tournament. The first and second round games will be held in the Regis Fieldhouse.

The Regis Men’s Basketball team wasted no time getting off to a hot start in the RMAC challenge! On top of the victorious weekend for the Rangers, senior Ty Mcgee joined the 1000 point club only one game into the season, Christian Little earned RMAC defensive player of the week, and Coach Brady Bergeson earned his 100th career win.

Starting off the weekend this past Friday, the Rangers faced a tough St. Mary’s team that made the trek to Denver all the way from Texas. St. Mary’s was able to push the Rangers to double overtime, but Regis would come away with the win 83-82. Dexter Sienko helped lead the way for the Rangers finishing the game with 23 points and going 9-15 from the field. Christian Little also tacked on a nifty 19 points and nine rebounds.

If you weren't convinced after Friday that the Rangers were the real deal, Saturday was the icing on the cake. The Rangers looked even better than they did the previous day beating Lubbock Christian University 89-74. The Rangers were able to find a way to incorporate all players into their offense with three players scoring in the double digits this game. Jarret Brodbeck led the way with 18, followed by Christian Little 14 and Ty Mcgee tacked on another 11.

Next Up for the Rangers will be Johnson and Wales University (0-5)  Wednesday at 7 P.M in the field house.
