DENVER, CO, June 23, 2025 - Colorado Movement Lab (CML), is an initiator in bringing the art of dance and the enjoyment of movement to people of all ages and abilities. In an effort to break the stigma of the performing arts cycle, CML proudly offers bountiful opportunities for adult dancers, ages 18+, to train at a rigorous level, and participate in professionally produced performances and showcases. One of these opportunities will transpire this summer, from June 23, 2025 to June 28, 2025, in the Adult Movement Intensive. This program, directed by CML’s Co-Artistic Directors Chris Harris and Julia Wilkinson Manley, will provide extraordinary opportunities for artists of all ages and abilities.
With an all-inclusive approach to healthy dance training, CML defies societal barriers by offering movement education and exploration to all, without pause. One of the key tactics built by CML, to create this space for bravery and inhibition is through workshops and programs. The Adult Movement Intensive encompasses all aspects of a professional dance intensive, with classes ranging from Ballet, Pointe, Repertoire, Variations, Pilates, Jazz, Contemporary, Ankle Health, Conditioning, and much more. Additionally, all participants are able to perform in a concluding showcase, with rehearsal times built into the intensive.
Students of the intensive will work with CML’s incredible instructors, made up of professional dancers and dance educators. The faculty team for the Adult Movement Intensive includes Caitlin Ayres, Jacquline Campos, Chris Harris, Page Jenkins, Rebeca Ramirez Vargas, and Julia Wilkinson Manley.
This summer marks the second year of CML’s Adult Movement Intensive, with a return inspired by the positive response of both participants and audiences. Melissa, an Adult Intensive 2024 Dancer at Colorado Movement Lab, reflected on the impact the program had on her. "Getting out of your analytical brain and into your creative brain, I think, is really important, especially for those of us who work in very analytical fields. The fun, the camaraderie, the exercise - is all really good! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to do anything. Go to dance camp!"
On June 28, all participants in the Adult Movement Intensive are invited to partake in a concluding performance, showcasing the work done throughout the week of the intensive. The performance will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, with doors opening at 6:30pm, and the performance officially starting at 7:00pm. The performance will occur in CML’s main space, Lab 1, and welcomes friends and family of the participants, as well as the general public.
Enrollment for CML’s Adult Movement Intensive is now open, and new students are encouraged to reach out with questions. CML is ready to help curate the dance journey of all, and looks forward to continuing to merge healthy dance training with an emphasis on personal wellness.
